Hi, I´m Griet and I am a single Belgian lady, 51 years young, currently living in Mallorca/Spain. I have been in Spain for the past 6 years and previously worked in different parts in Africa for around 25 years. I am a social scientist by profession, working online as a coach/therapist/facilitator, mainly for business executives.
I have one daughter who studies in Belgium (international journalism) and I am a pet parent to one dog called Kiwi. She is 5 years old, mixed breed, spayed, trained, very friendly and submissive to other dogs.
I am looking for long-term opportunities, ideally no less than 4 weeks, and it is important that Kiwi is welcome too.

I used to travel a lot in the past (and worked with a number of pet-sitters myself) but since the pandemic it has been much less. I long to explore Spain this year so I decided to embark on a journey where I can combine my love for travel and animals with my job.
Two of my dogs passed away in 2020 due to old age and I recently lost another dog who suffered from an autoimmune disease. It’s the first time in many years that there is only one furry friend in the household and both Kiwi and I miss having a bigger pet family around.

Since I was a child I liked animals more than people and we always had dogs, cats, rabbits, fish and chickens at home. Growing up in a rural village, I loved going to the neighbouring farms and spent most of my free time taking care of horses and farm animals.
As an adult I moved to Africa and adopted many lost souls (several dogs and cats, a goat, a parrot, a tortoise, a pony, an African civet and a bush baby). Last summer I looked after a pack of 8 dogs in Marbella for 3 months and I am in currently on a finca in Mallorca where I take care of 4 horses and 4 cats.

What I can they bring to the assignment is peace of mind that your beloved pets and house are wel taken care of.
I work an average of 4 hours a day so I have plenty of time to look after and play with your animals and take care of your house/garden.
I lived in over 20 countries and am well versed with al kinds of crisis management and ways of living. Being a pet parent myself (for as long as I remember), I know how important it is for your own wellbeing to know that your animals are loved and cared for whilst traveling. I have plenty of experience with -and understanding of- different kind of animals at different stages in their lives and I have a soft spot for special needs animals
