Milou & kyle

SUMMARY
For more than 5 years we, a couple in our early thirties, have been working all over the world in humanitarian aid and nature conservation. Kyle grew up among dogs, his dad being a police-dog trainer, and he is very knowledgeable when it comes to dog behaviour. Milou has had various pets throughout her life and she also loves horseback riding. Together we cared for an abandoned kitten in Afghanistan as well as three large dogs and a few chickens and we also helped raising orphaned animals captured from poachers in a national park in the republic of Congo. We have done house/pet-sitting twice in Europe for medium-terms (2 and 4 months). At the moment we are hoping to spend a few months in France between March and June to refresh our French language skills and work on a few mobile/home-based consultancies. We’d love to be able to spend this time in a French home with the sweet company of one or more pets. We are calm, reliable, tidy and clean people who will easily adapt to your personal needs and preferences.

ABOUT US
We are a Welsh/Dutch couple in our early 30’s. We first met 6 years ago during our masters’ course in nature conservation at Imperial College London. Since graduating, we embarked on quite a few adventures together, working on humanitarian and nature conservation projects in Central Asia and Africa.

In Afghanistan for example, Kyle worked with mountain communities to reduce the risk of natural disasters, such as floods and avalanches, through improving their environmental practices, whilst Milou helped to empower hundreds of Afghan women through beekeeping .

In the Republic of Congo, we helped with the running of an incredible national park in the breathing heart of a unique pristine rainforest. Milou camped out in the woods to study the gorillas and forest elephants, whilst Kyle managed the operations and logistics from the park headquarters to support the research and anti-poaching efforts.

We both love to travel and we prefer to spend longer periods of time in the same place, in order to live like locals and to get to know an area as much as possible. Wildlife and nature conservation is our passion, and we feel lucky to have a lifestyle that combines all of our interests; travel, adventure and exploration with nature, wilderness and exchanging with the incredible people and cultures that inhabit the areas we are privileged to live and work.
