We are a retired Kiwi business couple from New Zealand. We like to have summer all year, summer in the northern hemisphere followed by summer in the southern hemisphere. We have four children living overseas and two in NZ. 2019 will be our third 6 months of housesitting in Europe. We are security conscious, non smokers and lease a car for the whole time we are away.
We have always had pets ourselves from the SPCA, one cat living to 22 years of age, and a black lab to 14, chickens, a goat, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits and Goldfish.
In 2017 we did 7 house sits with 12 dogs and 10 cats, and fish sending photos to their owners most days. Six were through TrustedHouseSitters and one through HouseCarers.com .
In 2018 we did 8 Housesits and looked after 10 dogs, 11 cats, pygmy goats, chickens and fish - through TrustedHouseSitters, Nomador and LuxuryHouseSitting.
My husband Peter is from Cornwall originally, while I'm a Kiwi. We have a garden – vege/fruit/flower, and lawns ourselves at home and would enjoy looking after your garden if you have one. We also have a spa pool, but have previously had a swimming pool. We love living in other countries, exploring their art, architecture, food and culture.
We would look after and spoil your pets as you would yourself and take good care of your home so that you can have a relaxing break where ever you will be.

Ruth and Peter are a really nice couple. They were good company, interesting and good fun! They took lovely care of my cats and some of the neighbours cats! Whilst I stayed up the road with my dogs owing to a cancellation in my trip. It was such a pleasure to meet these kiwis and I’d love to meet up with them again either at home or abroad. I think they’re a great choice as pet sitters

Ruth and Peter were lovely to communicate with right from the start and always kept us informed about things we needed to know. Our dogs and our garden were obviously in very safe hands and were in great condition on our return. We truly appreciated their efforts to fulfil the walking Pip and Tan need when neither of them was feeling well. Hope that future housesits have less demand

Se sont des personnes charmantes, respectueuses et aimantes des animaux. chaque jour, j'ai reçu des photos et des nouvelles de mes chats et chiens. je les recommande vivement et suis très heureuse d'avoir fait leur connaissance.

Ruth and Peter are wonderful housesitters. We had lovely updates everyday with anecdotes and photos. The animals were clearly very happy. They were proactive when they saw things that might need extra care. For instance our fruit trees were being watered by a friend but a young avocado tree and a couple of other young trees were missed. Ruth and Peter spotted the avocado wilting and made sure it and the other trees got enough water. In the summer in Spain this can be the difference of a tree surviving or not. They also were happy to do a bit extra, for instance they initiated to sell our eggs on our behalf to our regular buyers. They even made us dinner on their first night when we handed over and when we arrived home at the other end after a long day travelling! We would definitely would recommend them.
