The cats are mostly self-sufficient apart from food and water: they roam during the day, but must be locked in on Sundays during hunting season. Sitters need to be able to deal with gifts of small mammals and occasionally birds, and call out the vet in case of problems. In the summer it would be helpful to water the plants. Neighbours can be called on in case of emergencies.

The area is very peaceful and perfect for walking, cycling, birdwatching, stargazing (no streetlights mean you can see the Milky Way, and there is a telescope). there are vineyards all around. For most of the year there are brocantes in the neighbouring towns and villages. In less than an hour's drive are beaches, small chateaux, Roman villas, a sailing school, horse and donkey riding, libraries, small museums, art exhibitions, boat trips, excellent restaurants, and concerts (though not big names unless you go a little further to La Rochelle or Bordeaux).

Un grand merci à Eli pour son accueil et sa gentillesse. J'aurai (un peu) amélioré mon anglais. Une soirée sympathique malgré les fraîches températures de ce mois de juillet. Les environs valent le coup d'oeil et qu'on s'arrête un peu. Les deux chats d'Eli sont très gentils. Un grand merci!
