I have 2 cats, Jip a British Short Hair, and Noortje is a Siamese. Especially Noortje loves to cuddle. Jip does too, but he needs a little bit more time to get to know you. I expect house sitters to make sure there is always fresh water, enough food and that their cat litter is cleaned regularly. And that they love to cuddle with cats of course! They really are the sweetest things, and would never bite or scratch you. I expect house sitters to take an effort to get to know them and pay a good amount of attention to them. Jip is quite vocal, he meows in front of closed doors because he wants to enter. Bring your earplugs! :) They are not used to (small) children, so I prefer solo or duo house sitters. Noortje is already a bit older, and she is a nervous cat. That is why I use Feliway, to reduce her stress levels. I also have many plants that need watering once a week, or in summer time the plants on the balcony will need watering daily.

I am going on a 4 month sabbatical, travelling to India. I am splitting up my house sit in two parts, 1x 3 months + 1x 3.5 week Dates are flexible as my friend, who lives in the same building, can do a hand over of keys and takes care of my cats in between cat sits. If you are interested please tell me more about yourself, your cat sit experience and why you are interested in this specific cat/house sit. I live in a newly build apartment in Amsterdam Osdorp, this is right outside of the City-Ring. My view will be on a canal, but that isn't actually there yet. The area is live in is being upgraded, it used to be a very poor and neglected area, but many new houses are being build and the area in general is being renovated an updated. It is a 2 bedroom apartment with a large living/kitchen area, 80m2 in total. It has a good size balcony facing South, it is on the 3rd floor, with elevator and I have a parking spot available in the garage. It also has a large enclosed communal courtyard. NOTE: I have moved houses in August 2023, so reviews prior to this date are of my previous home.

My kitchen is a well equipped kitchen as I love cooking, the kitchen counter tops are quite high though, 102cm. Feel free to use everything in it, as well as all my spices and condiments. Really no need to by more dried pasta if it's right there! :)

This area has everything you need, it is next to a popular shopping area with 4 large supermarkets and many other shops to enjoy. It is right next to Sloterplas where in the summer you can sail, sub or even swim. The whole area is quite green, and invites for nice strolls. It is a little outside of Amsterdam's city center, but public transport is around the corner to take you there. It also has a direct bus connection with Schiphol Airport. Because the area is in development many restaurants are popping up. Also the theater the Meervaart is closeby, where they have dance, music and many more entertainment on offer. Every Tuesday there is a local market to enjoy.

Outside of the busy city center of Amsterdam. It is really a residential area with basically no tourists. But it is bussing, as I live right in the central shopping area of this neighborhood.

We greatly enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam. Eelkje graciously hosted us the night before she left. Her apartment is modern and very pleasant, close to shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and within easy access to the town center by bus or Tram. The 2 cats are adorable , they get on well with one another and soon adopted us. We’ll miss them. We are grateful to Eelkje for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to explore this beautiful city.
