We have 3 cats; a 13 year old brother and sister and a 7 year old female. The two older cats, Teitur & Bjalla, are very friendly, they warm up to new people quickly and love cuddles and pets. The youngest cat, Lína, is more skittish and needs time to get to know new people. She is very curious and loves to play. Bjalla needs oral medication once a day, but it tastes good so she will happily eat it when put in front of her. They are all indoor cats and we have an automated litter box (litter robot) so no daily scooping but the bag needs to be changed every 2-3 days. They all eat the same dry food.

Bright and roomy apartment in the south of Amsterdam, with recently renovated kitchen and bathrooms. It's located in a quiet, safe neighborhood with nice parks and outside of the main tourist areas. In the daytime you will encounter locals going about their lives and in the evenings the streets are quiet. It's easy to get anywhere in Amsterdam by tram or bus and metro.

There are two desks with adjustable chairs and 4k monitors, as well as high speed internet, in case you'd like to work from the apartment. You can get Uber Eats or Deliveroo to deliver from roughly 100 different restaurants. The smart TV has surround sound and an HDMI cable to watch from your own device. We also have 1-2 streaming subscriptions at a time, with guest accounts that you are free to use. We like to cook and the kitchen is pretty well equipped, with two ovens, dishwasher and an induction countertop. The guest room has two single beds that can be used separately or attached together, as well as ensuite sink and shower. There is a washer/dryer combo in the apartment and a drying rack for hanging laundry.

There is a supermarket right across the street where you can find all the essentials. Within a 15 minute walk are butcher shops, bakeries, fruit vendors, dry cleaner, cheese stores, large supermarkets and multiple restaurants. Schiphol airport is a 15 minute car ride away, or around 30 minutes by public transport. There is a bus stop right around the corner from the house that takes you to Amsterdam Zuid Train Station in 10 minutes. From there are metros and trams to different Amsterdam neighborhoods and good train connections to the rest of the Netherlands. There is only paid parking available in the neighborhood (and in almost all of Amsterdam)

Amsterdam is a great city with countless attractions and restaurants. Despite the multiple points of interest it is surprisingly small and has a good transport system of buses, trams, metros and trains so getting around is quite easy. You can use credit/debit cards to check in and out of public transport systems. The Amsterdam Zuid station offers great connections to take day trips to other cities, such as Den Haag, Utrecht or Haarlem from the Zuid station.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour, bien reçu par nos hôtes et leurs trois chats. D’adorable compagnons durant nos trois semaines de séjour. La ville était magnifique, on recommande chaudement. Merci à eux de leur accueil. We loved our stay, well received by our hosts and their three cats. Adorable companions during our three weeks of stay. The city was beautiful, we highly recommend it. Thanks to them for their hospitality.

De retour d'un séjour de douze jours chez Hrefna et Ernir à prendre soin de leurs 3 chats (Teitur et Bjalla, frère et sœur et Lina, la plus jeune). Les chats m'ont adoptée facilement. Lina (« écailles de tortue ») est réservée tandis que Teitur (mâle noir) et Bjalla (femelle tigrée) sont très câlins. M'occuper d'eux a été un vrai plaisir. La communication avec Hrefna avant ma venue a été facile et efficace. Idem pendant leurs vacances. Elle et son mari m'ont chaleureusement accueillie la veille de leur départ. L'appartement est agréable, ensoleillé et bien équipé (les chats bénéficient d'une litière automatique!) ; il se situe dans un quartier plaisant et tranquille. La proximité d'un supermarché et de restaurants est un plus indéniable. Les transports en communs, facilement accessibles, m'ont permis de visiter Amsterdam et de découvrir également Haarlem, Utrecht et Delft. En résumé, un bilan très positif. Trois jours après mon retour, la présence des trois poilus ainsi que les ronronnements de Teitur et de Bjalla me manquent un peu. Je ne peux que vous recommander un cat sitting chez Hrefna et Ernir !

It was a real pleasure to meet Hrefna and her husband who are great hosts. Their flat was very comfortable and close to the public transport. The three cats Lina,Bjalla, and Teitur are adorable and very cuddly : a special mention for Teitur who kindly accepts his diabetic treatment. Thank you so much again for your trust!
