We have a bunch of adopted animals: a bunny, a cat, and two dogs (see pics).
The eldest is Nila, a 9 year old, yet very energetic mix of golden retriever and german shepard. The little one (Luca) is a recently adopted Cavalier King Charles spaniel, she's one year and 5 months old.
Our cat Dobby is the most difficult in the pack: we found her in our garden when she was 5 days old, rejected by her mom. We've raised her as good as we could, but she's still scared of people she doesn't know and sometimes hisses (she never bites or attacks). She's better be left alone by newcomers until she feels more comfortable (which sometimes happens and sometimes not).
Her relation with the little adopted dog is not excellent yet, but I apply all the coaching skills I have.
The bunny only remains in its cage at night; in day time it's peacefully strolling the garden. She's 8 year old, so very quiet. All other animals respect her.
For now, our animal combi is not the best place for young kids; a bit of experience with animal coaching is helpful (due to the new adopted dog and special cat).
Speaking Spanish …

Speaking Spanish is an advantage, to deal with eventual neighbours, the vet etc. People reguarly don´t have a high level of Spanish.
On this trip only the bunny and the cat may stay home, but I´m not sure about that yet.
Eventually they are all there.
Apologies for the short notice, this trip just came up a few days ago.
Our home is a townhouse in Barcelona, a hidden gem, as in Spanish cities people mostly live in apartments.
It's located in a beautiful residencial area and iIt has a big terrace and a small garden with a huge beautiful plane tree which is a cool place to hide in hot summers. It's an old house, but its interior has been completely re-designed. It's light but cozy. It has 3 interior bedrooms and a separate studio in the garden. The neighborhood used to be an old village (Sarria), which was annexed by Barcelona a few centuries ago. It's green but there are lots of restaurants and shops around. The metro is a 3 minutes walk away and brings you downtown in 10 minutes.

We have two big terraces and a garden, in the middle of the city! There is also an extra studio with bathroom in the garden for guests.
If you chose to travel to Barcelona by plane or train, you can use our little Beetle for excursions.
Our cars have free parking in our surroundings. You definitely don't need a car in the city!
It's difficult to bring your own car, as it's onlly paid parking around here, which is really expensive.
I would not enourage to bring an own car to our neighborhood.

It's GREAT to live in Barcelona, especially where we live: centric but quiet.
Barcelona has it all: beach, culture, shopping, sun... And Camp Nou, the Barça stadium of course :)
It's also easy to leave the city by metro (dogs allowed!) and hike on the famous carretera d'Aigues, a 10 km hiking path above the city. We hike and run there every weekend.
We originally are from Holland, but live here for many years and still enjoy every minute!

Barcelona is HOT!
The Sagrada Familia (recently refurbished and now more amazing than ever!), Parque Guëll, lots of Gaudi homes to explore, museums, modernist routes, shopping centres, restaurants, tapa's and vino's, the beach...
In our neghbourhood there are many restaurants and shops and the Barça stadium of course.
You can even use or car (but better not in the city, as parking is expensive) to explore the surroundings. 10 minutes drive to nature!

Enjoyable, green oasis only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of central Barcelona. Would highly recommend to experienced house and pet sitters looking to visit this beautiful part of Catalunya!
