We have two small-medium sized rescue dogs-Sticky and Alexandra Hamilton (Ally)! We have Sticky for 8 years but we think she is about 11 years old. She loves people but is very wary of other dogs so you need to keep her on the lead when walking her. We have done lots of training, and she is now able to walk past other dogs, but it is very important to avoid other dogs where possible. As she suffers from allergies, we have to be very careful with what we feed her. She only eats her special food and treats, which we will of course provide enough of. Both dogs eat twice a day. Sticky also needs bathing quite regularly, so this will need to be done once while we are away. She enjoys time on her own, and often you won´t even notice she is there!

Her happy place is running through the countryside, so if you plan on doing any nice walks, she will be your perfect companion!
August in Spain can be extremely hot, so you need to be careful when walking the dogs. They need walking before it gets too hot in the morning (so before 10am) and then again when it is cooler in the evening (after 7pm). Ally will also need taking out for a pee in the middle of the day so you need to stick to the shady side of the street, or her paws will burn in the heat.
Ideally, you would walk the dogs separately most days, as sticky is older and a lot slower than Ally now.
Our dates are fixed, but it would be great if house-sitters could come a day earlier so that we can meet, show you the house, and introduce you to Sticky before we leave. We will arrive on the afternoon on the 03/01 so Sticky will be fine that day if you need to leave earlier.

We live in a 2nd floor apartment (with lift), 10 minutes walk from the beautiful beach of Cubelles and a 5 minute walk into Cubelles old town. It has 3 bedrooms: 1 double bed, 1 sofa bed for guests, and one single bed with pull out trolly bed. There is 1 bathroom, with bath and a separate shower, a large kitchen with everything you need and a gas hob. The living/dining room has a balcony off it looking onto the pool. From the balcony there is access to the large roof terrace with views to the hills behind and the sea in front. The roof terrace can also be accessed by the main stairs and the lift. There are fans in each room and also air conditioning in the living room. There is parking under the apartment with a private parking space which you will be able to use, but there is plenty of on-street parking as well. The pool is accessible via the parking garage. It is usually quite quiet as it is only shared by 12 apartments.

We have a TV with a Netflix, Amazon and Disney+ account. There are some books that you are welcome to borrow. For the more active, there is an adult bike and a paddle board you can use.

A quiet apartment in a residential area just a 10 minute walk to beautiful beaches stretching for miles. There are a few restaurants and cafes nearby. A small supermarket 3 minutes walk away and larger supermarkets within a 5 minute drive. The lovely small town of Cubelles in just a 5 minute walk with more restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. The house is 5 minutes walk to the train station with trains every 30 minutes to the popular town of Sitges (10 minutes) with wonderful independent shops and lively nightlife. Barcelona is 45 minutes on the train. The airport is a 35 minute drive away (also accessible by train). The apartment comes fully equipped and there is a Greek style BBQ with turning spit and large umbrella and sofa on the roof terrace. It will be hot in August, though there is plenty of shade and a pool to dip into when you need it! The weekends can get quite busy in August with tourist (mainly Spanish tourists) but this also means there is plenty to do with local festivals that I would definitely recommend checking out!

Anna and her family made my husband and I feel welcome in their home and provided detailed information about the care of their dog, Sticky. Because of her thoroughness, we felt prepared to handle any situation that might arise and had a good understanding of Sticky's needs. Additionally, Anna provided information about interesting places we could explore while staying in the area.

Great location. 3 minutes walk to the beach. The first meeting was very friendly, we felt us very welcomed.
During our stay the dog was easy to handle and we had a funny time with her and enjoyed the long walks.
In the house with the yard we felt very comfortable. The area was quite and familiar and the weather was perfect. We had a very god time., thank you
