We have 2 Labradors. A ( yellow one ) male WES, and a ( black one ) female NOVA. They are both turning 12 this year. They are very friendly and love company. Wes is always looking to be with someone while Nova is more independent. They require feeding at 8:30am and 7pm. They need someone at home with them overnight. They don't need to be walked, as playtime in the yard is enough at their age, especially on a hot day, they get tired easily ! We will soon install a doggy door, so during the day they can use the yard at their convenience. Once it gets dark, the doggy door will need to be closed and they have to be taken out on demand ( we have on occasion had wildlife encounters such as skunks so we do not wish that the dogs go out by themselves at night ). With the dog hair, the inside of the house usually needs vacuuming every other day. The yard needs mowing once a week, trash taken out once a week. Of course, poop needs to be picked up on a daily basis. We have automatic sprinkler, so beside a couple of indoor plants, …

We have already bought our tickets but might be able to change them if necessary by a day or too in advance or later but would like to avoid that if possible. We would like our home/pet sitters to arrive at least one day prior to our departure so we can give instructions and go over everything that is important. Our pet sitters can stay a day after our return, so that things are not too hectic on the day we come back and there is someone with the dogs, should our plane arrive late for some reason !

Our home has a fully equipped nice kitchen, laundry room and we have a gas BBQ outside. Nice patio to enjoy meals outside or lounge in the long chair. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan, so does the living room. In the kitchen there is a very large sliding door giving access to the patio and backyard. Our living room has a very large couch with a wide chaise lounge, perfect for watching TV or Netflix, or just read. We have an XBOX too for those who like to play video games. We have some books and DVDs available too. In the detached garage, we have 2 mountain bikes. We have beach chairs available too. The driveways offers plenty of parking.

Our house is located in a quiet neighborhood. It sits on a cul-de-sac and the neighbors are very quiet. It backs up to a lot that is not inhabited ( used to produce power ), so very private. In the distance , we can hear trains, they have to honk for safety as they reach their depot, that's the only major noise. Depending on the day or weather, we can hear them more or less. The supermarket is 5-10 min drive away otherwise there are small Mexican minimarts close by too. Fast-food places and restaurants are everywhere ! Shopping malls about 20 min away. There are plenty of opportunities for the beach ! The closest one is a 20 min drive ! ( it's not too far actually but local traffic makes it a little longer to reach ).

The main place to visit, especially during the summer, is the beach, and here in California you can choose to swim, ride your bike, run on the paved sidewalks or just sunbathe ! Long Beach offers miles and miles of beachfront and is 20 minutes. For a smaller beach feel, San Pedro is close by too. Long Beach is home to the Queen Mary and Aquarium of the Pacific, while in San Pedro, you can take a boat ride to visit the harbor ( the largest on the West Coast ), go whale watching or visit the USS IOWA, a WWII warship. Further away ( 30 min drive ) you'll find iconic beaches such as Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach or Hermosa Beach. They all have a pier with boardwalks and restaurants. Our home is located in Wilmington, and has a strong latino / Mexican vibe. The city has a nice waterfront park, perfect for exercising, take an evening walk or have a picnic. Venice Beach and Santa Monica are about 45 min to an hour away. Downtown Los Angeles is 30 minutes away and has all the latest restaurants ! Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farms, Universal Studios, the L.A. zoo are all just under an hour drive …

Nous étions en contact depuis quelques semaines avant notre arrivée afin d'apprendre à se connaître un peu mieux. Lors de notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis comme des reines! David est venu nous chercher à l'aéroport. Pleins de petites attentions nous attendaient. On ne pourra jamais assez les remercier! Tout était fais pour nous faciliter notre séjour. Pendant leur absence malgré le décalage horaire ils sont restés disponibles pour toutes questions. On ne peut rêver mieux comme hôtes!!! Lors de leur retours nous avons passé un excellent moment avec eux et leurs enfants. Wes & Nova sont adorables! Dès notre arrivée nous avons eu le droit à un accueil festif de leur part! À chaque retours de balade également! Ils sont facile à vivre et attendent l'heure du repas avec impatience ???? Je pense que nous pouvons dire que cette expérience Nomador nous à apporter de véritables amis. Hâte de les retrouver en France ???? we were in contact for a few weeks prior to our arrival so we could get to know each other. when we arrived, we were treated like queens! David came to pick us up at the airport. lot of sweet touches were waiting for us. we can never thank them enought! While they were away and despite the time difference, they were always available had we any questions. We couldn't hope for better hosts!!! When they came back, we had a very nice time with them and their kids. Wes and Nova are adorable. Right when we got there, they welcomed us very happily. And every time we returned home after an outing too! They are very easy dogs and can't wait to get fed. I think we can say this Nomador experience brought us real friends. Can't wait to see them again in France.
