We have three horses, a mini horse, and a donkey. They need to be fed every evening, and checked for any issues, which could be a cut, sore foot, tick, infection, etc. When we feed we check each animal, give it some attention and love, and make sure it is healthy. If a severe problem should arise, the vet must be contacted. The water tank and buckets need to be filled if low. We put a few supplements in the feed each night which is very easy and straight-forward. Our indoor-outdoor fluffy cat is the sweetest baby, who will cuddle and love you to bits! There is also an apartment that may, or may not, be rented next door. There's a barn, too, for the horses. Water from various streams and small water falls can be heard all over the farm. Sits in a lovely wee glen, about 1.7 miles to a small mountain town, at 3000 ft elevation. Lots of outdoor activities include endless hiking choices. Music is big here, especially folk and old time mountain music and clogging classes are only minutes away. Must LOVE taking care of horses and one cat.

One of our favorite things about our home is that you will feel that you are truly in the country, but less than 5 minutes to town, It is a very picturesque property, and beauty is all around. The air and water are clean, and the local people are friendly and kind. We try to practice sustainable living styles and the appliances are almost all new and high efficiency, There are a couple of rooms/areas that we are still working on, but the home is comfortable and inviting. In the spring we plant organic garden beds and harvest organic food all summer and fall.

We are just 9 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is one of the most scenic roads in America. The Blue Ridge Music history facility is nearby. We are about an hour drive from Winston-Salem which has abundant cultural facilities and entertainment, and we are 100 miles (2 hours) from Charlotte, a mojor city. If you like hiking/walking/running you will never grow tired of the trails here, and could do new ones every day you are here. The area has stocked trout streams, and our farm is just a few miles to the planet's 2nd oldest river, the New River, which flows northwards. There is so much mountain music you could listen or join in nearly every night.
