Hello! We are Mayra & Andre, an active couple in our late forties who enjoy traveling and meeting new people. We love pets and have enjoyed their company throughout our lives.
I, Mayra (an interior designer), was a long term volunteer at the Toronto Humane Society in the kitten nursery and at the cat shelter. I also helped with dog walking.
I, Andre (self-employed), have had cats and dogs at different stages of my life.
We have completed numerous house sits taking care of cats and dogs. From a tiny Chihuahua to a 60 Kg Great Dane, from a kitty still in training to a senior cat, and everything in between, we have kept happy up to four pets at a time (three dogs and one cat, two dogs and two cats, one dog and three cats, two dogs, etc.).
Fish and tortoises have also been under our care.
We have completed only two house sits through this website, but we have done 20 assignments through another house sitting platform (we can e-mail you all the references upon request). This has allowed us to combine two of our favourite things: animals and traveling, while sending owners daily updates with pictures and videos of their loved ones.
We have been homeowners and we understand the importance of trusting your home to someone who will treat your space with care and respect. We have been renters as well and we have great relationships with our previous landlords and friends for whom we have done housesitting. We are a mature couple who will take care of your home and your beloved pets as if they would be our own.

Andre and Mayra cared for our fur babies and our home with love. They sent frequent photo updates, looked after our plants and 3 gardens as well as kept our home sparkling clean! Mayra even treated us to some delicious homemade soup and bread, piping hot, to greet us after a grueling 2 days of flight cancellations and delays on our way home. We were away for 6 weeks and this was our first experience using housesitters. We could tell that our dog and cat bonded well with Andre and Mayra from the photos and videos we received....did you know Andre speaks "cat"!! Since we live in South America, it was a bonus that Mayra is fluent in Spanish as well as English. She had no trouble conversing with locals, neighbors and store clerks. We know, in the future, that they will be our first choice if they are available and interested in house sitting again in Ecuador. We have made wonderful new friends. My advice to anyone wanting to have trustworthy, friendly and animal loving caregivers in their home....is to look no further than this couple. 5 gold stars is my rating!!

Andre and Mayra are awesome! We've been privileged to have some excellent house sitters over the years but Andre and Mayra have truly raised the bar to a new level of excellence! What an outstanding couple! They took great care of our home and incredible care of our fur kids! Our 2 dogs and 2 cats are sleek and happy, healthy and contented;-) They dealt with an eye emergency with one of the cats beautifully. Mayra sent photos and funny comments on the fur kids' antics every few days which really helped us feel fully informed. Both Andre and Mayra are excellent communicators who kept us informed about what was happening at our home regularly. They displayed great judgment in deciding whether an issue should be brought to our attention for a decision or just handled it themselves. We were totally comfortable that all was well and being handled properly! Andre mastered runnning the riding lawnmower and handled all our mowing chores (we have 2 acres!). Equally impressive was how well they handled an unexpected transmission failure in the care: collecting the parts we shipped down, making repair arrangements, and handling all aspects so that the car was running smoothly when we returned! Mayra kept a terrific spreadsheet detailing all the expenses as well as all the receipts so it was easy to track the finances. She took care of payroll for the staff and paying Social Security each month. Every penny was accounted for, a feat I never accomplished in years of expense reports! Mayra should be a tax accountant;-) These two are such warm, loving, caring, and competent people! We were very sorry to see them leave this morning! We'll have them back in a heartbeat any time our calendars work out!
