Bonjour, we're Liz and Hans from Somerset, UK and we'd love to house sit for you.
We're an experienced and reliable professional couple in our fifties taking time out for travel and adventure. (You're never too old for that ;-)

About Us
Professionally, we both have an extensive background in healthcare and the arts. We've lived and worked in Switzerland, Europe and the UK. Hans is a freelance intensive care specialist nurse as well as an exhibiting artist (bronze sculpture and ceramics) with a Masters degree from Bath Spa University. He has exhibited and sold works in the UK and internationally, curated many exhibitions and currently works as a freelance arts consultant and a partner in an artist-led gallery.

Liz is a musician, trained nurse and has over 23 years experience as an holistic mind-body practitioner and transformative coach. She works online and combines coaching, hypnotherapy, applied kinesiology and energy healing to help her clients express their true potential and restore healthy balance in their lives. (The occasional dog, cat and horse has been known to benefit from her healing hands too)! As an accomplished pianist, she works regularly with choirs, chamber groups and classical singers.

We are looking to explore more of France, especially the areas around Morbihan (56), Loire Atlantique (44), Calvados (14), Orne (61), Brittany and Normandy generally, Bourgogne, Franche-Comte, Ain (1), Haute-Savoie (74).

We'd also love to explore more of Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Italy and Spain.


Why House-Sitting?
We're taking some time out to travel and expand our horizons, to be inspired by new places and all of those we meet along the way. We have especially enjoyed making so many new friends, of both the 2 legged and 4 legged variety!


Our House-Sitting Experience
We have lovingly renovated all the homes and gardens we've owned during the past 30 years, so we know what it means to care for and maintain the home which you’ve created and cherish so much.

We very much enjoy, and are inspired by, the magical nature of animals around us, both domesticated and wild. Over the years we’ve looked after chickens, dogs of all shapes and sizes, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, ducks and sheep. Having to leave our pets when we went on holiday was always a huge concern for us, however we always found it a relief to find a pet-sitter who we knew and could trust to look after them just as well as we would. Being close to nature is also very much part of our lives – we have created restful garden havens for ourselves, our plants and the resident wildlife - birds, frogs, hedgehogs, bees - in every place we’ve made our home.

What Qualities Do We Bring to House-Sitting?
We are calm, clean, resourceful, reliable, well organized, self aware and responsible people, with a vast amount of experience in looking after people, places and animals. When we house sit, it is with the same degree of respect, care and attention to the home and pets as if they were our own. We never leave any pet for too long on their own if we need to go out for provisions etc., we keep the house clean on a daily basis and are garden-friendly too.

We are non-smokers, have our own transport and both drive. We are also fully Covid vaccinated.

We value clear communication and having a good rapport with our host, which we think is key to a successful house sit.

Between us, we speak several other languages including French, German, Dutch and Polish. We love to travel and are able to adapt quickly to changing home environments and responsibilities. e.g. over the last year of house-sitting, we have successfully dealt with plumbing emergencies, special heavy-load deliveries, administering pet injections and medications and more.

In a house sit, we look for a clean, light, spacious setting, with garden or surrounding nature. We love peace and quiet and have a preference for cats and chickens.
