Retired Healthcare Executive

Hello! I'm a happy, healthy, 49-year old healthcare executive who has worked in large American health systems (hospitals) and insurance companies and will be taking a sabbatical in 2025. I'm interested in meeting new people, experiencing new places and things, and enjoying the companionship of animals. I'm also a serious student of wine and intend to spend 2025 in (online) advanced wine courses and study.
My wonderful husband (plus our two awesome boys, ages 16 and 18) will be staying in the U.S. for work and school while I take time off in 2025. We know first-hand from having our own very lovely home and pets (golden retriever and two rescue cats) that being away is always much more enjoyable when you are confident that your home and your pets are safe, comfortable, and happy.
Our golden retriever loves to carry things (socks, balls, tissues) and go for walks. On walks, she stops a lot to sniff. Our cats rule the dog. The black female cat lives inside and outside. She's a fierce hunter. She also purrs loudly, which you can hear from across the room. The grey male cat lives inside only. He's a very affectionate and outgoing boy who loves attention and human laps. He occasionally has a kidney issue (blockage?), so he needs special food and sometimes medicine when there's a flare. It's no big deal, though. We keep our lawn and the inside of our home very clean (especially regarding pet/litter box waste).
I personally enjoy walking, running, hiking, skiing, being outdoors and sometimes staying in (especially working on my wine studies and those credentials), listening to podcasts, trading the stock market, and being with my friends, family and pets. I have always been around animals and feel that pets are an absolute and essential part of families. I don't smoke or use any drugs. I am a vegetarian (though I eat fish/seafood). Last, I am very blessed in that I have had a successful career (and financial security), so you can be sure that I would not only treat your home respectfully during the stay but that I could also handle any circumstance responsibly and with confidence. This also means that I have the financial resources and easy-going attitude to be flexible if your plans need to change or something comes up on your end.
It would be an honor to be considered for your home/pet sit. Thanks for the consideration!
