AN, Germany - Août 2021
We felt very welcomed and had a really great time. Celine and Jermeny are very friendly people. There is lots of space and the appartment we stayed in was perfect for us. L`aigle, the town nearby has the best market we have come across in whole of Normandy. We still miss the animals, especially Panda, the dog.
Dettenhausen, Germany - Mars 2020
Hospitality / Communication Communicating with Celine before our stay was uncomplicated. We had a quick video chat and the excitement for our stay grew as she sent us more pictures of the animals and her family. Upon arrival, we felt at home immediately and chatting with Celine and Jeremy was very nice. Their kids are adorable and due to a lack of French and English, we communicated through smiles. Throughout the stay, Celine was easy to reach and we were frequently in touch, regarding the state of her house and animals and her family's return. The Home itself Celine's place is located on a quiet country road with lots of space and a small number of neighbors. The house sits on a farm estate that is neatly placed between fields and pastures. The remodeled farmhouse leaves nothing to be desired and includes an open space kitchen and large living area. The Animals 1 dog, 4 cats, 28 chickens, we started with 5 sheep and ended with 9. At the time, Panda (dog) was 7 months old and a pleasure to take care of. He already listens pretty well and is a smart and fun dog to be around. He has plenty of space to run around and explore, so walks were almost arbitrary. The cats love to cuddle and are pretty independent. The chickens need food and shelter and in return provide LOTS of eggs! Amazing eggs. We're sad to have to go back to store-bought. The sheep were pregnant and we were so excited to witness 4 lambs being born - luckily without any complications. The Area L'Aigle is just a short drive away from the house or as a brisk walker, you can make it in about 35 minutes. There's an amazing market every Tuesday and we highly recommend it for the local produce and delicious baked goods. The Normandy coastline can be reached within a 1:15 drive and is definitely worth a visit. Many of the small towns surrounding L'Aigle are charming and can be explored. The Bottomline We can highly recommend this house-sit to animal lovers, who want a taste of farm-life and enjoy the peace and quiet in this untouristic part of the Normandy.
Rock Hill, United States - Juillet 2018
Celinette has a beautiful farm with relaxing views to enjoy. We were able to take day trips to Camembert to see cheese being made, the Normandy coast to the D-Day memorials, and Rouen to learn about what really happened to Joan of Arc. On alternate days we were able to regroup, wash clothes, relax, and plan the next day trip. We even got to watch France play in the World Cup with the town locals. If you are looking for a place that gives you a combination of both travel and relaxation, and you love animals, then this is your place!
