We expect our house-sitter to take care of our two cats: Billie and Mitzi. They are 10 years old and are very friendly and sociable. We have developed a fusional relationship (!) with our cats over the years, and it's very important for us to ensure their well-being. They need water (especially in summer), food twice a day (Mitzi has a special food because he got kidney stones in the past), and a clean cat litter. If you can play with them they will be thrilled :) We will also need you to water our garden, located at 8 min from home walking (it's a communitarian garden).

Logement

Old house in the city center of Tavira (5 min walking from the train/bus stations, 10 min from the boat going to the Tavira island and beaches). The house is full of history with a lot of character. It has Wi-Fi, television, hot water, washing machine, dishwasher, but some of rooms need extensions to get electricity and don't have much light at night. Important to be careful with the facilities in general, it is old and fragile! We recently started a renovation and some of the rooms are a bit rough. The house is extremely quiet and has an internal terrace with plants. We also have a community garden 8 min walking from our place and usually ask house-sitters to take care of it as well.

Small and quiet street in the old town of Tavira. Supermarkets, bars, restaurants and bakeries very close to our place. Everything is accessible at walking distance.

Tavira is one of the most attractive and valued spot on the Portuguese coast. Surrounded by the natural park of the Ria Formosa and close to some of the most beautiful beaches, it offers a privileged setting. You will also find amazing fresh fish at the market and delicious pastries at the closest bakeries. Tavira is also a beautiful town full of history, with its castle and 37 churches!

It was my first experience of house-sitting and getting to know Portugal! And I'm so grateful to Mélania and Serge for their trust and friendliness to me and the wonderful opportunity to know the beautiful Tavira and take care of their lovely Billie and Mitzi. Mélania is very friendly and helped me find the best option on how to get to Tavira. I took care of the vegetable garden and it was so nice of Mélania and Serge offered me to use everything the garden produces:) Mélania was very quick to respond to my questions and provided all the information I needed. The house is with a nice vibe and very beautiful interior details and ceilings! And it has a great location in the centre of Tavira, but at the same time in a quiet place. I felt very comfortable and safe in the house. Billie and Mitzi are very friendly we became friends and had a great time together! I've the most wonderful experience of my first houssit and can't tell you how grateful I'm to Mèlania and Serge for this!

Mon séjour était magnifique .Mélanie est une jeune femme solaire pétillante et généreuse. Elle m'a acceuillit chaleureusement et m'a tout de suite fait ressentir comme si j'étais à la maison.( m'a offert une bonne patisserie portugaise). On a passés une super soirée au restaurant ensemble très agréable avec ses amis. Elle m'a fait visiter le centre ville,et m'a donner des contacts au cas où j'aurais besoin de quoi que ce soit. Elle a vraiment été au petit soin avec moi. Ces 2 petits minous Billie et Mitsi sont trop mignons.Billie est très affectueuse espiègle et coquine,et Mitsi indépendant et très affectueux aussi. Ce sont des amours tous les 2. Tavira est une petite ville très mignonne et typique du Portugal . Cette région est pleine de charme .J'ai vraiment trop aimé le Portugal . J'ai vraiment été dépaysé .Merci à toi Mélanie de m'avoir donné l'opportunité de visiter cette magnifique région. Je recommande ce séjour +++.

I had a wonderful time in Tavira and I felt very lucky to have the opportunity to come. Mélanie gave good instructions before coming and we had contact every day by WhatsApp and she was very helpful. The house is old and beautiful, close to the station and the supermarket. I also watered the groceries at the allotment every other day. The two cats are super sweet. Billie slept on the bed most of the time and she loved cuddles. Mitzi was more reserved at first but he is very easy to get along with as well. The both loved to be on the patio. Tavira is a lovely little town. A great place to explore the surroundings. I highly recommend this address.
