We have two cats, Ferdi and Isi: a brother and sister who are inseparable but are of opposing characters. He needs gentle encouragement to eat, she will eat everything including her brother's rations given the chance. They are used to dried food which we give them twice a day, morning and early evening. They are both free to roam the house and garden and are generally quite self-contained - but they are very affectionate and enjoy human company. We also have a small flock of hens who will keep you well supplied with eggs. They are very easy to look after and require no more than a daily check or two, to ensure their water and feed is topped up, and to collect the eggs. Most of the garden is covered by an irrigation system but we have a few plants in pots both inside and outside that will need some water every couple of days, It takes about 15 minutes every two days, or 5-10 minutes every day if you split the task into two parts. Nestling on the slopes of one of Lanzarote's most iconic volcanoes, the house has extensive private gardens which enjoy sweeping views of the local countryside and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. There is much to explore in the local area by car or on foot – something for everyone, from beaches to historic sites, art, culture, sports and wildlife.

The garden contains numerous places to sit and relax, catch the sun, enjoy the views ,or dine al fresco. Inside, we have an extensive collection of CDs, and musicians may enjoy playing the piano in the salón. There is a fast and very stable fibre internet connection which guests can enjoy throughout the house and parts of the garden. This also makes it possible to come here for a working vacation, for anyone able to work remotely.

People often comment on how quiet and peaceful it is here. Due to the location of the village, high in the mountains, it can be more cloudy here than in the holiday resort areas, and a little cooler as well. It is useful, though not essential to have a car. In the village there is a shop, a restaurant, a bar serving food. There are 4 buses daily to the island's capital. Lanzarote airport is 30 minutes away by car. In the adjoining villages, there are more extensive shops and restaurants, and each Saturday there is a lively and colourful artisanal craft and food market in the nearest town, 5Km away. . The house is divided into two parts - our home and a self-contained apartment for guests. This means we can accommodate house sitters for a few days in advance, for them to become accustomed to the house. our animals and what needs watering in the garden while we are here. We encourage this, and the dates we advertise already include two days for familiarisation before we leave. We are normally happy to extend the dates on either side, if this makes travel arrangements more convenient.

There is much more to Lanzarote than sun and sandy beaches. The volcanic geology and scenery is truly spectacular. The whole island is dedicated a Biosphere by UNESCO. César Manrique, the island's most famous artist, nurtured this with a vision of sustainable tourism and ecology that was 40 years ahead of its time. Many of his finest works, which bring together nature, art, architecture and sheer exuberance in a uniquely Lanzarotan way, are to be found close by and should not be missed. One, the Mírador del Río, is even within walking distance. The area is also a walker's paradise, as it is for bird-watchers, artists, photographers. It is a year-round playground for cyclists and those into more extreme physical activities such as surfing, hang-gliding, diving or rock climbing. Though this part of the island is very. much a Spanish-speaking area, English, German and French are also widely understood, and the locals are welcoming of visitors and keen to communicate in whatever language there is in common.

Merveilleux séjour à la Casita de Tim et Alan ! Nous avons été accueillis comme des amis , la parfaite organisation de nos hôtes à rendu le séjour très agréable, Les chats Mr Ferdi et Melle Isy sont très attachants Nous avons vite trouvé nos marques pour nous occuper d’eux et des 5 poules . La maison est confortable, très calme , et il y a a proximité beaucoup de choses à voir. C’était un plaisir de venir à Yè et de rencontrer Tim et Alan !

I had an incredible time staying with Tim and Alan. They are warm and thoughtful hosts. They made me feel at home and took great care to ensure that my stay went as smoothly as possible and that I was able to take full advantage of all that Lanzarote has to offer. I particularly appreciated the few days I spent with them on my arrival and departure. Isi and Ferdi are incredibly gentle creatures, each with their own character. They're very easy to look after, and very endearing. Ferdi is a bit picky with food, and it's hard to resist his begging meows for treats! Isi will eat anything (when she's very hungry, she can eat flies 🤣 ), and is particularly intelligent. I'd never looked after chickens before this stay, but it really wasn't complicated and they're fun animals too. Tim and Alan's house is very beautiful, peaceful, and an ideal base from which to visit the various points of interest on the island. In short: I absolutely recommend Alan and Tim. For me, they fully correspond to the spirit of Nomador: travel, animals and meaningful encounters! Thank you again for everything guys :)

Tim and Alan are the best kind of hosts you can wish for: everything was explained in detail, they made sure we were settled well and would encounter no issues, and above all, they are very kind and good company. We felt absolutely confident when they left and their preparation made it very easy for us to take care of everything without ever experiencing any confusion. Their cats are absolutely adorable and love company as well, which made it even easier to take care of them! The house is located in such a nice location, where it's peaceful and tranquil throughout the day and night. They've turned their home and land into a very nice place that's a pleasure to take care of. Given our experience with Tim and Alan, and the responsibilities that were entrusted to us, we would most definitely repeat the experience. We´ve gained a friendship along with our experience and are looking forward to see what the future holds in store!
