Our dog is a laid back lurcher who has a leisurely routine which centres on eating and sleeping, though she also enjoys walks, on which she is very well behaved. She greets other dogs with pleasure, but doesn't get over-excited. She is an affectionate animal, used to company, and shouldn't be left alone for more than two hours .Her only special need is medication to control her arthritis.

Large end terrace at the edge of open country. Warm comfortable house with excellent wifi. Easy access to Northumberlan National Park, Durham Dales, Newcastle, Durham and Bishop Auckland. There's a post office and supermarket within walking distance, and a leisure centre two miles away.

We have over 1,000 books (yes, too many), and hundreds of cds ranging from classical to world music and modern folk. There are two ground floor rooms. One looks out over the front garden, and gets the sun in the morning. The 'middle room' is really cosy in the evening. We have camping equipment if you should want to take advantage of the countryside.
There is a garage which will take a motorbike, but there is also parking outside the house. There are two bikes.
Oh, and there are two shower rooms, one on the ground floor.

Life here is very quiet, with friendly neighbours who will lend a hand if necessary. There are two small towns nearby, one with a variety of shops and supermarkets. We are on the C2C cycle route, and on a bus route to Newcastle and Durham. There are numerous walks in the area, and moors and open country twenty minutes away. The coast can be reached in 45 minutes.

There is so much to do here. We are on the borders of County Durham, with its Dales and Moors, Gateshead, with the Sage and Baltic, and all the attractions of Newcastle (which has a stunning riverscape), and Northumberland, with its national park, castles, wildlife. The Scottish Borders are only an hour away.
