Working at a animal sanctuary in Jaca, Northern Spain as part time voluteer.
I am retired and have developed my own land from scratch where I live, in Spain near a town called Pego that is on the Costa Blanca. I have installed security cameras connected directly to the Internet so that I can view my land while am away.
WORK RELATED INFORMATION.
I love caring for cats and have rescued many over the years. I helped the local cat charities. I am a DIY enthusiast and do a lot of work in connection with that including construction, ground maintenance, house keeping, mechanics, administration and account keeping. I am able to work on my own initiative from the instructions given on what tasks to perform. I am reliable and honest.
I am very good at organizing things such as tidying up and putting things into good order. For me to work properly I do need to get things properly organized that is the number 1 priority.
CAT ANIMAL CARE, MAINTENANCE AND HOUSE KEEPING.
I have made around 30 to 40 applications through Nomador and Workaway. Only 1 was successful that was a 2 and 1/2 month stay at a home based cattery in Switzerland during the summer of 2020 where I did get a good but short reference on Nomador. This cattery has closed down which is why I have not been back.
I did get an invitation to go to the coast of Brittany for the summer just gone, via Workaway, but after I had set off and driven 420 miles in my motor home the host decided to cancel just before I reached the border of France. I could get no more offers, and in the end turned my travels into a tour of the Pyrenees, where I accidentally came across an animal sanctuary and made an enquiry to see if there were any vacancies for a volunteer. My invitation was "like a prayer answered" according to the secretary and I started helping a few days later and looked after the cats and kittens there, feeding them, cleaning, including working in the isolation room. I returned my land October 5.
The year before this In Switzerland (Baretswil) I cared for and looked after all the practical aspects of up to 25 cats and kittens from birth at the specialist breeding cattery of Bengal cats. The number of cats varied as more kittens were born and others sold. There were 5 breeding (female) cats many varied numbers of kittens, 3 Tomcats, one “daddy” and a younger lined up to become a “daddy”,
I also cleaned the house, did housework, gardening, various DIY and repairs jobs. I also took a little dog Pepino for daily walks.

Peter stayed for three months and helped us a lot with the cats and the cleaning of the house. He also took the full responsibility in our abscence and did a very good job. We can recomend him for many other house sitting places.

Peter did a perfect job with cleaning, feeding and taking care of the cats. He kept the house safe and clean and took all the instructions very seriously. He is a good house sitter and great cat lover. I can recomend him to all families.
