We are Philippe and Sophie, previously experienced homeowners and current loving and attentive rescue cat parents living in Ottawa, Canada (oui, nous parlons français). We are responsible, quiet but friendly, caring and trustworthy.

Sophie works for the Federal Government as a financial analyst, and Philippe is a fitness instructor for people with Parkinson's Disease and works on freelance artist projects (www.phil-lalonde.com).

When accepting a house sitting assignment, our goal is to provide, above all else, homeowners peace of mind that their homes and pets are being well taken care of during their absence. Given that we use the services of house sitters ourselves for our rescue cat, we know all too well how important this is.

After extensive travelling throughout our lives, we now prefer to experience new cultures like a local and partake in slow travel - soaking in local life for weeks at a time in the company of animals and get to see places we would not have otherwise visited. We house sit around the world mostly during winters.

We have extensive experience caring for homes and pets locally and around the world. In addition, we have cared for various animals such as dogs (Newfoundland, Bernese Mountain dog and labrador), saltwater fish, and many wonderful cats.

We are both attracted to animals and love to be around them. Philippe is especially gifted with cats, being quite the cat whisperer. He can read their body language, and cats seem to accept and trust him quickly. Upon request by the cat(s), we can spend countless hours cuddling and playing. Sophie, who's quite the cat-lover herself, loves keeping them active with plenty of playtimes.

Sophie loves to clean (really!) and doing chores such as watering plants, keeping the home tidy. Sophie has a working background in security and will always make sure your home is secure and that your privacy is maintained. We have previously owned homes with many plants, a pool, lawn and garden and can upkeep all of these with care while you are away.

We have both had pets in our lifetime and understand the importance of looking after them with love and care. We have: Cared for cats and dogs, living inside and outside; cared for an elderly cat, an injured cat, requiring medication; strays, rescue animals, street animals, and pure breeds (Main Coon and Siamese); and had to deal with pet medical emergencies.
