The neighborhood houses George Washington University and the GWU Hospital. The building has college and graduate students, and their is rooftop access, convenient for smokers (no smoking in the apartment is allowed). There is a paid washer and dryer on each floor. There is a weekly farmer's market on Wednesday a block away and one on Sunday about a mile away. There is a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods walking distance, as well as a 7-11, and several restaurants and eateries, including Western Market, a new food court. The Kennedy Center is close by and has free daily concerts (Millenium Stage) in addition to their other shows.

There are other art galleries, including the National Gallery of Art (nga.gov). The Kennedy Center is walking distance, and there is a a movie theater in Georgetown and another in Chinatown, which are accessible by public transit.
